I said to Mary (she said I could call her Mary few months ago. I don't call her Mary in real life though), "You look upset these days. I haven't seen you smiling for a while".

"Ah. Iam not upset or anything. Look I am smiling", said Mary very fast in a lighthearted tone.

I sort of smiled back at her and absently said, "Oh, I am glad".
